“Tour de Paul” 50th birthday party

In August 2015, I threw my husband a “Tour de Paul” 50th birthday party that combined a few of his passions: cycling, time with friends, poker and premium spirits. The venue was The Aloft Hotel in Cupertino. The limited bar featured Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and 4 Hangar1 vodkas (Straight, Buddha’s Hand Citron, Kaffir Lime and Mandarin Blossom). The vodkas were served chilled/up with grilled fruit garnishes. As a conversation piece, I commissioned an ice sculpture-vodka luge of Alpe D’Huez, a climb in the Tour de France. My husband had biked earlier in the year, crossing one more item off his bucket list. Photos by Dorota Molska.
